Just before things got wild with preparations for the opening of our gallery space, I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with one sweet lil' family in Greenville, NC -- the Damerons. The baby girl you'll be introduced to in a moment just had her first birthday and her folks wanted to commemorate the occasion with some good photos of one of those special ages that comes and goes so quick! We of course managed to get a number of family shots in at the same time, as well as each kid with each parent -- and a few of my favourites, shots of the big brother, who had plenty of energy to bring to the session!

Only a couple of months ago, an opportunity came up that my wife and I felt was a door that had been opened just for us to walk through. A studio space was opening up inside the Inner Banks Artisan Center, a great venue that boasts a large gallery space, perhaps fifteen individual artists' studios, and a coffee shop where workshops are hosted and local, traditional music tickles the ears on a regular basis.
After a good deal of deliberation, we decided to take the space with the idea that we would (among other things) 1) sell some of my fine art prints and canvases 2) advertise my services locally...

Take two parents, add two sweet little girls, mix in a warm Sunday afternoon and a photographer, and you've got the recipe for a sweet little photo shoot. The Averys are some good friends of ours (my wife and Amanda go way back) and we were excited to get the chance to do a family photo session with "the A-Team" two weeks ago.
Amanda's main requests were "urban" and "quirky" -- so let me know in the comments if you think I succeeded in fitting the bill. {I'd shot a wedding the day before so if you don't think so, just cut me a little slack. :) }
